Well hello there friends. Today is the first day in a brand new year… what amazing things it may it hold?! Lets find out – GO!
So yesterday, after many many hours of downloading, converting and editing up the New Years Resolution collaboration for YouTube, I finally got it up. It turned out very nicely, and really promotes the fantastic community on YouTube which I am just so in love with… oh, and it was FEATURED!!!
New Years Resolution
The thumbnail is the amazing kickthepj who I’d just met in stickam, with omgmhazzrocks, jimmy0010, randomprodinc, blueskies and some other people. I recall that we were talking about “nakedness”, then the topic of my collab came up, so he went off and shot his footage. So yeah, I exploited him by using him as the thumbnail – but who wouldn’t, I need to appeal to the teen fan girl market, and they go crazy over shirtless Italian guys!
Hats off to Damien for featuring the video, as I was kinda disappointed that the 12 Days of Australian Christmas video collaboration wasn’t featured. Apparently the only reason that particular video wasn’t featured was because I was already featured on the front page with my other video, the Christmas List video. I should explain before this turns into a “feature obsessed” rant, that the only reason I wanted those videos featured was because they promote the amazing community on YouTube. The 12 Days of Australian Christmas for instance was exclusively made up of Australian YouTubers with a few guests. My passion for promoting the community stems from my own interaction with other YouTubers, and the ignorance of people I encounter everyday who think that YouTube is simply a site where they can watch illegally ripped shows, music videos or watch squirrels water skiing. Having collaborations on the front page makes people like that step back and think “hey, there’s more to this site.”
PJ is apparently rather pleased with his thumbnail status in my video and thought he’d send all his subscribers over to comment the video demanding more PJ nakedness in riverbasil’s videos… to be honest, I’m not complaining haha sure, PJ and his nakedness are welcome in riverbasil’s videos at any time ^_^
On another note, I just want to tell you all just how amazed I am at the amount of people who have been sending me video clips for editing where they throw in the phrase “riverbasil, you sexy piece of shit!” This phrase, along with “touch my riverbasil”, has become synonymous with riverbasil, and I friggen love it! Just a note on its origins, Jimmy and I were talking one evening online and started sending each other random voice clips, each one becoming more and more random. I even have an awful Zipster impression that he attempted saved somewhere. One day I just decided to throw in Jimmy’s “riverbasil, you sexy piece of shit!” at the end of a video and it was an instant hit, everyone loved it! I’m thinking I need a house DJ or someone good with sound editing to take these various clips I have and mix up a song for me haha that’d be brilliant!
